As tradition dictates, Santa is coming and not even a global pandemic can stop us….

....however, our approach to our traditional annual fundraising event will be a little different this year. Historically, we’ve roamed the village with our little helpers knocking doors and rattling buckets, alerting our village residents to Santa’s imminent arrival and collecting spare change along the way which helps enormously providing equipment and covering the running costs of our community club. With the enforced COVID restrictions in place it’s just not possible to replicate our previous approach safely.

However, fear not, the committee voted unanimously that the event must go ahead, ensuring a long standing Overton tradition continues , delivering the residents of our wonderful village some Christmas cheer in another otherwise extraordinary year, full of sacrifice, consideration, kindness and resilience. So, on Saturday, Santa and his slightly larger Elves will attempt to cover every m2 of our village (never been done before!) spreading Christmas sparkle and cheer along the way. We’ll have music playing and bells ringing, a live online Santa Tracker so you can monitor progress against our planned route map. We’ll also be providing regular updates on our social media channels. Twitter & Facebook

As we are unable to knock doors and rattle buckets we’ve setup a quick and easy online donation site for those residents who would like to donate to the running of the club. As always it’s completely optional, but every little helps provide the best equipment, facilities and support for the children of our village and surrounding areas to play the nations favourite sport.

Rest assured the most important factor is that Santa is coming! See you all on Saturday!

Yours in sport
